Full-stack Engineer

Here at AnswersNow, we're looking to change the landscape of how parents of children with autism get support. We're passionate. We move fast. We're backed by Techstars (Metlife Accelerator powered by Techstars 2018). If you’re looking to make a difference with your work, keep reading.

We're looking for a full-time, Full-stack Engineer who is a self-starting, problem solver to join our team. You'd be working alongside the CTO to implement the strategic vision of the company. To be a good fit, you shouldn’t be afraid to go out of their typical comfort zone to get things done.

We currently use Ionic and Angular 5 for our front-end technologies (we have a parent facing app and a portal for our employees). Currently, our API is written in Java using Spring Boot. Everything is running on AWS with PostgreSQL as our database. View our current stack on Stackshare!

We're looking for our next team member to help us achieve the following:

  • Improve our DevOps maturity. Think automated tests, CI/CD pipeline, and containerization
  • Implementing data reporting and analytics so we can make decisions based on data and facts
  • Being hands-on in improving our platform and our UI/UX, because delivering value and a wonderful experience to our customers is our #1 focus
  • Eventually building out our automated learnings platform. Think natural language processing and machine learning/AI

To get this done, you’ll need to be quite familiar with:

  • Angular 2/5/6 (and obviously, Javascript and/or Typescript)
  • Jasmine/Karma for testing (or automated testing in general)
  • SASS/CSS
  • Java or C# (with a willingness to work in a Java shop - for now)

Hopefully you already are, or want to become:

  • a Webpack guru
  • a DevOps wizard (AWS & CloudFormation Templates, Docker)
  • Experienced with Microservice Architectures and their complexities
  • Experienced with OAuth2 and Open ID Connect and best practices
  • Experienced with Websockets at scale
  • Experienced with WebRTC
  • Experienced in Mobile App Development (whether Native, React Native, or using Ionic) with knowledge about the challenges of API versioning

By joining our team, you'll do meaningful work, join the team at an early stage, help define the culture and technology, and have a great time doing it.

We’d prefer someone local to our hometown of Richmond, VA. However, remote-work is a possibility for the right person!

Salary and meaningful equity based upon experience.

If you’re interested, please send us a message at careers@getanswersnow.com telling us why you’d like to join the team, along with your CV/resume!
